Great effort from all a few established players should take note!!

The sound system in the DHL stand, well definitely at our end, wasn’t working, we could only hear some  garbled  noises! At least the screens are better.
Lots of players had good game; after some terrible laboured performances from him earlier in season, Landajo was much better. What about that tackle he made!

Good game to watch, I would say we won that three tries to two with them actually winning on random penalties.... Great effort from everyone. You can see how effective we are going back to our offloading game. You wouldn’t think we were playing a team of last man standing players. Let’s take this attitude to Salarycens next week.

Aha!

What a great performance! Hopefully we'll learn to cheat better from their example. I don't entirely blame the ref, his touch judges gave him no feedback when they held down our 10 and 12 to stop them rejoining the defence, and blind-side entry was ignored. Lots to be encouraged about from the  Quins' up-and comers! Also a great day for supporter contribution - I arrived a wee bit late and could hear the roar as I walked from Twickenham. Shame no loudspeakers in West stand. And a nice Frenchman wanted to marry my daughter, which might save me a few Bob!

Agree.  Our best play has always come when we have a decent number of players who can offload successfully.  Easter was excellent at it and we struggled to replace him but Dombrandt is the real deal (and faster than Easter!)  Semi is also good at it.  If we can keep the error count reasonable then we might start to look like a top 4 team again.

Like most I went into this expecting a hard day at the office, hoping just for a few sparks to hang on to as highlights, but I think in some ways that was one of our best performances this season. For a side with few regular starters in it in the first XV, that was a great performance. A real shame to see Northmore go off injured (what *is* it with us & centre injuries?) as he seems to have inherited the Cardiff Met juju that Dombrandt showed us last season. Landajo played like the player we hoped he was when signed (although there were a few passes where the receiver had to catch the ball near their shins, so there's that to work on.

I think *both* teams made it a good game (until the last 10 minutes). Both seemed to want to play an open, running game. It's a shame that in the last 10 mins Clermont seemed to flip to an old-school "up the jumper" waste as much time as possible at every breakdown, switch out a scrummager for a better one because of an HIA type of game.

Clancy also has never read the laws regarding supporting ones own considerable weight when turning the ball over...putting your arms on the turf first does not mean you do it legally...he’s def in the bottom set regarding refs

I kept thinking that - players going hands to the ground first. I thought it was illegal. A couple of passes in the early tries seemed forward-ish and weren't checked, and on one of the Clermont kick-offs their players seemed yards ahead of the kicker.

Not great reffing, but a wonderful example of what we can do and where I hope we're heading. Shout outs to a number of players - Marler, Dombrandt, Baby Chis, Herron, Northmore, Murley all looked really good, and Landajo had his best game for us. Before the game I imagined a repeat of the game against Clermont where we played with Hopper and Casson in the centres... and it nearly happened again.

Considering it was a loss, I'm really pleased with Quins today.

Wasn't that Toulouse?

I also really enjoyed that performance which showed great character and intent. However, it's probably easier to play a more risky offloading game when you have nothing to lose. It certainly seemed to liberate Landajo who seemed like a different player - his natural game not suited to caterpillar rucks and kick-chase. Heron, Musk, Murley and Marler were very good today and looks like Morris discovered his running lines in the 2nd half. Might be more difficult to replicate this style of play when there's more at stake in the Prem, but personally I'd be very happy to go and watch that every week.

Well done to the boys today! Such a shame that they didn't get the result they truly deserved. However, that was the best I have seen us play this season. It was pretty consistently good across the 80 (silly penalties excluded!)

I was impressed by them all but I would really like Sinckler and Cavubati to stop giving away easy penalties! It is killing us when we work so hard to stop the opposition in their tracks in a maul or at a ruck. That said, both played well.

I was particularly impressed by Baby Chis who seems to be back where he was before his series of injuries over the last year or so - well done to him for his hard work in getting himself back into match sharpness. I also thought Musk was very mature and added a lot around the pitch. Landajo played really well, Murley was very good as always, Dombrandt was great, Morris is a graceful attacker, Northmore looks like he has been with us for ages too! Ross Chisholm played well and I thought he would break through a few times. Penny also did well and stopped a certain try in the first half.

Herron was superb, my man of the match. Maybe not as quick or skilful as Smith but a controlled Fly Half, for sure. His try was the highlight of the day - oh, for a moment like that next week!

Enjoyed that more than the some of the games we have won this year. Just so much more to cheer today than other occasions. Well done to the reserves and youngsters that really stepped up against a quite ridiculously strong club outfit. Great effort lads!

Gutsy and lively performance from us today. We’ve got some players who really want it and who can play. Herron, Musk, Northmore, Penney and, flipping heck, Landajo. Especially Herron, he stands 5m too deep for me, but he’s got great spatial awareness, a delicate boot and has a rugby brain. Potentially best second choice 10 ever?
But, have to say, dear old Clermont, they did keep us in it by kicking those pens in the second half. Made for an entertaining game though.
Good team, great support, always a pleasure. Travel well ASM.....

Just seen the game. Probably the most entertaining match since the World Cup. Clermont should be cited for the fake hia at the end. It was even more fun as Jack Musk is one of my son’s mates!

Great confidence boost for the young lads. They really fronted up and played extremely well to take a fine Clermont side so close.

I didn't get there QP 🙄 I took the dog for a nice long walk in the sunshine on Blackdown. Now I can finally walk more or less properly 7 months after a broken leg 🤬 I intend to make the most of it. I watched the match on TV when I got home with a nice pot of tea.
