But presumably the RFU get some money for putting this on. What sort of "vision" turns down free cash? To me it's like the Army/Navy. I have no affiliation to either so why would I bother. But if other people do and generate money that the RFU then uses to promote rugby, I can't say I have a problem with the fixture.

No quite. It is mostly harmless and I don’t have a problem with it existing, but they are really the only things that the RFU hosts beyond England games.

It just seems a shame that the only “accessible” rugby events at HQ make the world seem like nothing has changed since about 1950.
