The Final could be off.

Four players and three staff from Wasps have tested positive for Covid. The Final could be off.

10 day period of isolation if you test positive, the new broke yesterday and its assumed the tests were done the day before to get the results so that does give the players 10 days prior to the final.

They just have to hope its contained as if more go down with it from today the infected players cant play in the final as the 10 days wont be up.

I hope they get a team out and the final is played, I think it could be cracker of a match.

I think that if the game is played, Exeter will stroll it.

As I understand the situation, those players/staff that have tested positive must isolate for 10 days, whereas, anybody coming into contact with them, must isolate for 14 days.
That could make life very difficult for Wasps.

Pat Lam discussed it last night after the Challenge Cup final.  He fully understood that if Wasps can't declare themselves virus free in time then Bristol will be playing instead.  It wasn't something he wanted, as Wasps were the rightful semi-finalists.

The difficulty for him was deciding whether to let the players off the leash or committing them back to training on Monday morning just in case.

He should simply have said no thanks, we were beaten fair and square and if Wasps can't put out a team the trophy should go to Exeter.

Apparently it was agreed by the clubs before the restart that if this happened, the beaten semi finalist would take their place.  He cant turn around now and say no thanks (as much as I think you are right)

Fair enough. In that case Bristol should turn up, applaud Exeter onto the pitch and stand aside as they score a couple of hundred points. If PRL want a farce then let them have one!

Well, you lot wanted this farce.

I have been saying for years, that this is a league based competition. The team at the top of the league at the end of the season should be declared the winner of the league. this business of play offs etc, is a money grabbing farce.

It's a farce I tell you, a farce.

Yours

All about money, nothing more - a league is a league and whoever comes top over the season is the winner and whoever comes bottom is relegated (until playoffs are introduced - a subtle way of ringfencing IMHO!)
