Give the Baa Baas a warm up game?

Or play a football-style European Super Cup where the winners of the two European competitions play each other - just not for the Premiership.

Well, you lot wanted this farce.

I have been saying for years, that this is a league based competition. The team at the top of the league at the end of the season should be declared the winner of the league. this business of play offs etc, is a money grabbing farce.

It's a farce I tell you, a farce.

Mr Grumpy
You can't have a "normal" league for a competition where teams are regularly prevented from fielding their best players for reasons other than injury or illness.

Latest news from Wasps

Quote
Following an additional round of COVID-19 testing on Saturday, Wasps can confirm that four more members of the playing department have tested positive.

Those concerned are now self-isolating, as are their close contacts.

After consultation with the medical leads at Premiership Rugby, the RFU and Public Health England, the Club will continue not to train at this stage. A decision on whether the Club will play in Saturday’s Premiership Rugby Final will be made following the results of a further set of testing to be undertaken on Tuesday.

The Club’s COVID-19 contact tracing, measures and protocols, which remain rigorous, will continue to be adhered to.

Exeter Chiefs and Bristol Bears have been made aware of the situation prior to the public release of this information.

I really hope Wasps get their chance to play the final, yes they are now down 7 players but the whole squad played in the season and they deserve to play.

It would be cruel of they don't get their chance because of Covid.

What would happen if Bristol had a load of positive tests as well?

I notice that the women’s game involving Sale was postponed due to many Sale players having tested positive for COVID-19.
Sale Rugby Club not a very Covid-19 free place at the moment .

Yes I know Yareet, but the players are supposed to be a lot more careful than the general public. On the other hand it only takes one to infect all the others if they get past the many checks they have. I don’t know if the women are sharing the same facilities as the men at Sale. Harlequins women switched to The Lensbury in Teddington .

But what’s more careful? Whereas the international teams (in rugby and cricket) can lock themselves away (or not if they’re the BaaBaas), the club sides are in with the general public.

These cases could be contracted in the supermarket.

Or to put it another way, both Care and Ashton reckon they’ve had Covid. I doubt they did anything particularly reckless but at the time the R-rate in London was high.

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I’ll freely admit to being somewhat sensitive about the matter but many Sale fans are struggling to understand why our club is being vilified whilst others garner only sympathy.

Let’s not forget that Wasps had 11 cases when they should have been most cautious. I don’t for one second think Wasps did anything wrong yet the immediate assumption when Sale get cases is that we are at fault.

I think the main difference is that Wasps named a team when they had to but Sale didn't. If they had done so they would have avoided all the criticism.
