CALUM WATERS RELEASED ON LOAN TO JERSEY REDS
Thursday, 6th September 2018 @ 10:00

SCRUM-HALF JOINS CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB FOR REST OF THE SEASON.

Harlequins announced today (6th September) that Calum Waters has been released on a season long loan to Jersey Reds with immediate effect.

A talented scrum-half, Waters joined the London club in May 2015 from National League Two South club, Worthing Raiders and has made four senior appearances for Harlequins.

Commenting on Calum’s release Paul Gustard, Harlequins Head of Rugby said, “Calum has made considerable progress since he joined us. The opportunity to gain regular first team experience with Jersey will benefit him. We will continue to monitor his development with regular feedback from Nick Evans and wish him well for his season in the Championship.”

Hopefully we've retained the right to recall him if needed. He's looked sharp whenever I've seen him play, and we will no doubt need cover at times...

I think this is a very positive move for Calum , he was excellent as Capt of our Singha 7's side - ( Player of the Tournament ) - and getting regular rugby can only improve him.

Im sure he will challenge Dave Lewis and Charlie Mulchrone for the back up SH slot next season

Good news for him in a sense, as he'll get more regular rugby, but I was hoping he'd be here and pushiong Lewis and Mulchrone for the bench spots. Hopefully we can recall him for the new cup competition.

was hoping we'd see him get some game time behind DC ahead of Lewis and Mulchrone. Good move for him though.

Yes I was hoping to see him as bench cover this season. Particularly after he was so impressive in the 7's!

I too feel that Saunders has bundles of talent. He played a great game against Gloucester United last Monday (for me he resembles a young Danny Care with his quick ball, darting runs and sniping at the rucks especially with that 5metre try he scored.). He also had a great Pre Season 7’s tournament prior to the 17/18 season. Definitely one for the future there.
