West stand - the posh got posher
« on: Wednesday 27-Mar-2019, 07:46* »
Congrats if you sit in the west stand

Or rather now the “Charles Stanley stand”.

Yes we have an “official wealth management partner”.

Not a moment too soon, I’ll give them my piggy bank and ask for recommendations.

Honestly with that and Lamborghini we really are living the dream.

I’m lobbying to get KFC and a taxi company next - you know, something actually useful.

As a London Cabbie myself, I would be satisfied enough just to see the Harlequins RFC aligning/supporting itself with the London Taxi Trade.

Sarries, a couple of seasons ago, had Uber supporting them. Sarries and Uber parted company after Taxi members and their families made representations.

WEll thats a whole bag of snakes! You could argue that Uber is just natural market forces at play. Give the customer what they want etc...mebbes the independent London cabbies have to adapt and up their game.

I have total respect for a proper London Cabbie and "The Knowledge" but if I am standing in the pouring rain with no Black Cabs in sight I am sorry but I am going to use this new fangled thing they call a "mobile phone" to solve my problem.

Hmm
Totally understand about the bag of snakes and this is after all a rugby forum.
There are taxi apps eg MyTaxi.
Anyway, will be at Worcester on Saturday and staying overnight at the Premier Inn. Hopefully meet up, have a beer and celebrate the win. COYQ!!

The stage coach drivers and postilions were up in arms when the internal combustion engine came in.

I wonder which has the greater chance of lasting long term? Bloke riding round London on a moped for a couple of years doing The Knowledge, or a bloke using a sat nav?

No offence meant at all my friend but I have on many occasions tried to get a black cab back to Hounslow where I used to live after a night in London to no avail as they have said they will not go there.

The same was true of trying to get a black cab to Hounslow from the Airport.

Now when I am in London I use Uber or a cab company who never say no.

I know the argument is that I should take the number and report the driver but I cannot be bothered.  After a few drinks all I want to do is get home.

It’s Maserati not Lamborghini. Harlequin Football Club Not Harlequins Rugby Football Club. Pedantry over now. It’s good to see that the Maserati tie up has been so successful that everyone can remember the name.

Haha - oh yeah. Blinding.

Just like our other sponsors - erm, the financial thing, and yeah something else.

DHL and Adidas - are Greene King still one?

I’m dodging tje cab argument other than to say you’d have to pay me to shell out treble for a black cab.

Oh but the new annoying Uber thing is they do have access to your destination so can turn down your fare if they don’t fancy it.

If you wore a DHL delivery uniform and drove a speeding Maserati wearing Hunters “Quins” wellies, what might the rozzers arrest you for?

There is a word but the profanity checker won't let me type it.

On that point I note the wellies are on sale -- down to the highly reasonable price of £80...hahahahahahaah, haven't laughed so much since grandma died.
