n the last 7 minutes, Worcester did 3 try .... (I can not believe it) ..... even if we have the chance to play at home we lost it with Benetton in their house ... here in Italy It was written in the newspapers as a historic Italian rugby business .... (and it's been talked about for 4 days ...)

quintastic.

if smith didn't kick the ball away against treviso we'd have a home QF right now...

Final Qualifications are
1 Clermont (30pts)
2 La Rochelle (24)
3 Sale (22pts, 88pts Agg Diff)
4 Worcester (22pts, 25pts Agg Diff)
5 Quins (21pts)
6 Connacht (22pts)
7 Bristol (21pts, 159pts Agg Diff)
8 Saints (21pts, 155pts Agg Diff)

So, the QFs line up as:

QF1 Clermont (1) vs Saints (8 )
QF2 Worcester (4) vs Quins (5)
QF3 Sale (3) vs Connacht (6)
QF4 La Rochele (2)  vs Bristol (7)

I'm not sure folks will be too happy that in three out of the four QFs, it's teams who played each other in the pool stages! It also shows that having one of the two qualifiers from the Shield comp in your pool does give you a massive boost in the odds of being a qualifier once again (not surprisingly!)

Well I've got my fag packet out and this is the doodle highlights....

Group 1
Clearmont on 25 to play dragons so could end on either 25,29 or 30 will win group and even on 25 will be No 1 seed
RU Saints will beat Timosoara so will be on 21 points

Group 2
Worcs on 17 will beat Stadt prob so 4 points so 21 or poss 22
RU Ospreys but max 14/15 points

Group 3
Sale on 17 points will beat Perpignan as at home so will be on 21 or 22
RU Connacht again on 21 or 22

Group 4
La Rochelle on 20 will win and get to 24 or 25 so will be second seeds
RU Bristol on 21 points east 5 point win

Group 5
Quins win away so 20 or 21 points
RU Benetton 19 or 20 points

So seedings

1. Clermont 25/29/30
2. La Rocelle 24/25
3. Sale 21/22
4. Worcs 21/22
5. Quins 20/21

So looks like we’ll have to do it the tough way. Away to Worcester and then (more than likely) away in Clermont.

Well, in their pool stages, Saints lost both times, 20-41 at home and 48-40 away at the Marcel-Michelin, so you'd expect Clermont to win. Us vs Worcester? Tough to call as it's on their artificial turf. Hopefully we can give them a good tonking in the Prem in a few weeks time so that they start to worry about slipping into the relegation spot & concentrate on the Pre rather than the Challenge Cup!

Worcester away. A fixture I rarely look forward to as we always seem to reserve some of our worst showings of the season for said fixture. That said we’ve already been dire up there once this season so hopefully we’ve got that out of our system and can get the win in April.

On a related note, I’d like to see Exeter win this evening. Magic of Thomond etc etc. It’s almost disrespectful to the opposition how much hot air is blown up the collective backsides of Irish rugby but particularly the magic of Thomond etc etc stuff
