As an update, 1 X midi ball lost over the fence to the people with 4 dogs (,now a chew toy) 1 X full size over the neighbours fence (not returned) now onto the full size 2019/20 Quins squad signed ball. After that it's the circa 1998 Quins squad signed ball.
My wife tells me they are toys and meant to be played with so won't let me order more from Amazon 😟😬😭

You have almost got my vote. Could you just confirm that those walking on pavements and not looking where they are going due to using their mobile phones will be second up against the wall?
Don't you worry.
There will be plenty of time and plenty of walls - no shortage of volunteers either, I don't doubt.

Will you tell them to hold the phone/camera in landscape mode - not portrait, because otherwise, when my party get into power the will be the first ones up against the wall.

I know nothing about your party, but yes - I agree! Portrait has its uses, but not for this or similar videos/mpgs or whatever you call them now!

Tounge and cheek to an extent, he runs at me with the ball, I tackle him to the ground, release and go for the ball if he hasn't protected it and has moved to back for the imaginary scrum half.
Some kids fear a simple knock to the ground, it's good for them to have a bit I us rough and tumble so they know their most made of glass!
He's better at a running pass then static for some reason, bit he'll learn and hopefully be a better player than I ever was.

I’ve coached a children’s side for 9 years, from U6s, & I’ve done a load of RFU coaching courses. A few thoughts:
- "The kid can take a hit well for a 5 year old.” I trust that’s a wind-up / tongue in cheek. They can’t tackle until U9s, so no point doing anything physical now. The risk of you getting it slightly wrong and hurting him is enough to make it not worth it.
- They can’t kick till U11s, so there's very little point focusing on kicking now, unless he enjoys it. They can pick up basic kicking skills pretty quickly when they’re 9 or 10.
- The thing they all need right away is catch & pass skills. Can’t stress this one enough. We’ve got players at U14s who still can’t catch & struggle to pass. See these links for ideas to adapt: https://bit.ly/3b40q1w https://bit.ly/2V14b2j https://bit.ly/2RpElmv Get some small balls for him (eg size 2 / 2.5) or use other types of small ball (eg tennis ball).
- At that age, it’s also about evasion & running into space, so games of Chase & It.
Little and often. Stop when he gets bored (which with the average U6 will be about 5 minutes).
The other thing I'd recommend spending some lockdown time on is finding a good club, if you haven't got one already. Don't focus on the one with the best pitches / highest placed senior teams, but one where you both feel welcome and where the coaches know what they’re doing and focus on developing children (not winning). Ask what courses the coaches have done and how they are trained.
Lastly, start coaching. That’s the best way to understand skills development and coaching the sport.

So, during this baron time of rugby and my son have been continuing to work on his technique in the garden, sadly this has come at the cost of my full size signed quins match ball from the Worcester game this season.
The kid can take a hit well for a 5 year old ( he's in 7/8 year old clothes so can take some punishment) his passing is coming on well but his hand to foot and kicking skills are non existent.
Any one know some training drills that might help or advice?
I help coach the U5s & 6s and they generally all like the kicking practice. Our only advice is to drop the ball onto the foot. Some of them struggle with the coordination at first but after 2-3 week of 10-15 minutes they seem to get it.
The main drill we have is to have them kicking against a wall - either standing a few metres away or from further out and challenging them to reach the wall in a number of kicks.
Whatever the drill is, the aim is to get them practicing so that their coordination builds.
After 2-3 weeks some of them are easily making 10-15m+.
