It will depend how we go once the England contingent depart and we need Horwill to stay fit

And how many of them we actually lose to England. I don't see Earle being required each week bar maybe Japan. Depends how DC goes as to how much he'll be needed to. At 32 and 33 I'd hope Brown and Robshaw's workloads are managed too.

That reminds me, I have a clock that needs winding up.

I've got to lead this billy goat over a bridge...

I think we will probably go down, we get progressively more rubbish every season.
Losing at Saints and Bris who are poor sides shows where we are.
We won Saturday which is great but Glos messed up two simple tries - that will not happen to often.
We give away too many pens to gain any momentum.
Clifford returning? Yes for 20 minutes then off injured for 8 months.
L/O still rubbish.
Defence still poor -
Apart from Horwill we do not have a good enough lock and the back row options are limited where we have numbers but not enough quality and real depth.
Apart from Eli at hooker we have no decent hooker.
Dread to think what will happen when the internationals come along with the poor depth of the squad.
I hope we stick with Gussie when we go down which I think is likely to let him make his own mark on the squad - I cannot blame him for this mess as he can only do so much with the poor squad he has and no prem quality 10 but there is certainty an improvement in spirit and endeavor.

"We won Saturday which is great but Glos messed up two simple tries - that will not happen to often" - we also messed up two - Smith tripping up and the one in the corner.
Also, we let in a try while we had a player down with what looked like a dislocated finger.  But, we played most of the last 40 in their half.

"Clifford returning? Yes for 20 minutes then off injured for 8 months" - but, we do have a number of options to use for different game plans - e.g. Semi

"L/O still rubbish." - Saturday looked good (I think)

"Defence still poor" - Saturday was okay

"Apart from Eli at hooker we have no decent hooker." - I don't remember Eli playing on Saturday

"no prem quality 10 " - The Cat

Cheer up - it is a sunny Monday after a good win and we are in 4th position in the table

I agree.  Bristol done a number on them and Gloucs tore them apart (but then they come back and bullied Gloucs).

I dont have a problem with anyone thinking we will be in a relegation tussle, lost 3 of the first 4.  What I do not understand is why Quins are the only team in trouble (Reading/watching and listening to a few things you would think that is the case).   Ive read that Quins are lucky to be where we are, because of bonus points.  So the teams below us are unlucky because they have not been good enough to get more so far??
Quins are doomed, but Sale will be fine once they get player back (the same sale team we thrashed).  Tigers (with only one win, more points and tries against than anyone, beaten at home by the relegation favourites pre season) will be fine as they are Tigers.  Saint/Newcastle, again not looked great (Yes Saints beat us but home advantage I cant say I am surprised) will both be fine.  Worcs, barring one game have looked very poor.  Quins however, who have players to come back, a new coaching set up that has already improved the defence and, in my view, team spirit/atmosphere are certain for the drop and should feel lucky to be where they are!!

I think barring the current top 3, everyone is in with a shot of relegation.  Gloucs and Bath should be fine but both have looked pretty poor in certain games this season (Bristol hammered Bath I thought).  Despite the result I still think Worcs are the most likely.  It will be exciting though.

BT Sport seem to think Bath are top four candidates based on their most recent poll. Bit odd

Horwill coming back should make a difference. It would also be good to have official news on Rob Buchanan. It is hard to believe that 5 or 6 seasons ago we had too many young good hookers.

Can’t see an issue with thinking we’ll be bottom 3 - find it a bit weird to attack the bbc for running a rugby podcast where people who know what they’re talking about get to express their opinions.....what should they do? Run a podcast that just repeats the sentence “Quins are great”?

Egg Chasers podcast was also putting us in the relegation battle this week. It's hard to argue with the way that the team is (isn't?)  playing that we aren't in the mix for the lower end of the table. I expect and hope that once we get a few vital players back we'll look a lot better.

I cant see a win in either of the next to games but then we are Quins and its 80 minutes so anything can happen.

IMHO we need to sort out this warm up, before the sale game you could see and feel the attitude and want to win, the other games not so much.  We then need to sort discipline lets face it we are giving away far too many we need to aim for single figures for a whole game not just a half.

The wins will come i’m Sure of it the D is so much than last season, i know there are complaints about our wide D but if there going to score make them go round not through.  LO is getting there (depends whose throwing) we can actuall maul and defend a maul.  So in real terms huge gains already.

But i’m A paid up ST holder and want more. COYQ.

Definite possibility. We’ve had 4 pretty easy games & only won one of them.

Funny so we have had big Kev, the Cat, Sync, Marler, Brown all out for most of these first few games amongst others and they dont seem to count as giving us more strength when they come back in the team. Admitted we havent set the world alight but playing badly and got the bonus points sees us as 6th, wouldnt write us off just yet.

Most of the press pundits had us in the bottom third of the table before the season started  along with Saints Worcester and Bristol , most table predictions I saw were for 9th or 10th .

I do feel there is a much better attitude than last season so hopefully discipline will be sorted and we will click again.

Best thing we can do is get right behind them with noisy support .

And I'd remind you this poor performing team is currently six in the table. Agreed the next two games could be horrid, but perhaps the coaches lectures on discipline will finally get through and we can start to build something.

I agree with Quinky.  Wont change overnight, progress is being shown in some areas and I expect that around xmas we will be starting to look like a team.

I'm guessing Danny wasn't co-hosting this week then!

I think it's fair tip us as one of the team who might be in the mix, but not sure why Sale are more likely to improve than us. Ok, they'll get their southern hemisphere players back. We'll get Horwill, Clifford, Brown, just got Sink back, etc

Sadly this is seen as worth publishing by Radio 5. Let's be honest, at this stage of the season, 6 (or maybe 8) teams could be seen as possibilities for relegation. And after 4 games, who's to say we won't hit a rich vein of form - as Leicester have done for a few seasons now, after a poor start.

So we may not win the next two games - but we could win plenty of the other sixteen games. And relegation isn't decided after six games.

+1 on this way of thinking

Ugo in the Radio 5 Rugby Podcast (good listening) has us tipped to go down and certainly bottom 3 along with Sale and Worcester. They do though see Sale as most probably getting out of the bottom 3 once the southern hemisphere players and Ashton are back. We are not tipped to win the next 2 games. I am not saying this is my opinion - just reporting it. The Sunday Times rugby podcast - also very good - said we were dire against Bristol - no idea, no attack, gave away so many penalties.

We do need to get better...
