Also trying to sort a meet up ahead of the game venue, but at the moment it’s hard to know how many going as club not selling tickets

3 of us, all sitting. We're in Stirling the night before for a concert. Lucky with the dates.
-
I didn’t realise there were so many Runrig fans amongst the Stoop faithful! Sounds like there are a number of fans doing Friday in Stirling and Saturday in Perth!
-
Too far, not a runrig can either. If it was Big Country.....

Ahh, one of my all time favourite gags... Mark Lamarr: "When he left The Skids, Stuart Adamson went on to become a Big Country member; and we all do remember"

Indeed a top gag, but I think it originates from Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. Always worth retelling, though.

A bit O/T but Runrig's previous keyboard player Pete Wishart was in Big Country before joining. Pete is now an SNP MP and was he first MP to appear on Top of the Pops. As part of Runrig not a House of Commons band.

Update from Warriors:
Additional standing tickets have been released for The Famous Grouse Pre-Season Challenge in Perth next Saturday (kick-off 2pm).
Almost 5,000 tickets have been snapped up for the game against Harlequins on 18 August and with fewer than 70 seats remaining the capacity has now been increased to more than 6,500.
The squad will travel North on Wednesday morning to prepare for the fixture. They will visit The Famous Grouse Experience in Crieff and the Land Rover Experience in Dunkeld, before a full day of training on Thursday. The Team Run will take place on Friday in Perth, before the game on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 2pm).
An extended squad for the match will be named on Wednesday, while the club's brand new home and alternate Macron kit will be launched on Friday. The players will wear the new home kit for the first time in Perth on Saturday and supporters will be able to buy the new kit at the match.
The full squad will be at the game and will be available to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
You can keep up to date with everything that is happening next week across the club's official channels and there will be extended highlights of the game against Harlequins on Glasgow Warriors TV on Saturday night.

I like the sound of that food! Lamb burgers, bacon rolls, chilli beef, Thai and Malaysian meals - now there's a few ideas for the catering!

We will do extremely well to come away with a win from this game.
Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Dave Rennie has named a 30-man extended squad to take on Harlequins in the Famous Grouse Pre-Season Challenge at North Inch, Perth this Saturday, kick-off 2pm.
More than 5,000 tickets have already been snapped up but tickets are still available from £20 for adults and £5 for 18s.
It is an opportunity for supporters to see new Australian international Nick Frisby in a Warriors jersey, the 25-year-old starts at scrum-half alongside Brandon Thomson.
All Black Lelia Masaga starts on one wing with former Harlequin Robbie Nairn named on the other. Scotland international Rory Hughes completes the back three wearing number 15.
Paddy Kelly and Sam Johnson complete the backline, combining in midfield.
Scotland International Jonny Gray starts in the engine room alongside Scott Cummings. New Academy graduate Bruce Flockhart joins Chris Fusaro and Matt Smith in the back-row.
Up front, Oli Kebble and D’Arcy Rae start either side of James Malcolm.
There are seven internationals among the replacements including USA’s Greg Peterson and Fiji’s Niko Matawalu.
Alex Allan, Rob Harley, Adam Hastings, Alex Dunbar and Ruaridh Jackson are the Scotland internationals named on the bench.
Currie Chieftans’ Joe Reynolds is also included having spent time training with the Warriors during pre-season.
Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Dave Rennie said: "Our selection reflects us trying to give the guys who have been training since day one of pre-season an opportunity to showcase their ability against a good Quins side."
“It’s a squad full of good young men who have worked really hard and we’re looking forward to seeing them under a bit of heat."
“We’ve had a couple of international guys who didn’t tour in since the beginning and we were keen to give Jonny a run before round one. More guys will come in next week against Northampton."
“It’ll be exciting for the supporters to see Nick Frisby too, he’s a good man who has fitted in really well. It’s a good opportunity for him to show everyone what he can do in front of what promises to be a really good crowd in Perth.”
-
Oh, that's just unfair, including the 11th Doctor in the team! Maybe we should get some Daleks on the bench...
-
Can’t see it being a great day for us tbh
But who knows , will be interesting to see what team gets selected
Wonder who the “game changers” will be
-
Food and beer sound excellent, as does the rugby. Pity I cannot make it.
I believe Pete Wishart may be in Stirling for at least one of the Runrig shows.
He is of course MP for North Perthshire which covers Perth, so he might attend the clubs celebrations, it is what MPs do - but he may need to attend his surgery.
I suspect if he does come to the game he would support Glasgow.
