Premiership Rugby Cup - 3pm KO
-
4 Mins: PEN Smith 0-3
-
Anyone have a link to an online stream for this game?
-
In terms of qualification, I dont think a defeat really matters, Bristol losing to Exeter (who have picked their best side).
-
7 MINS: 5-3
-
No I can't find anything covering the game. Its now 5-3. Landajo sent up a rubbish box kick that was collected and try Sarries. Conversion missed.
-
10-3 as Spencer goes in under the posts. Conversion is a gimme so it will be 12-3
-
15 MIN: 12-3
-
Exeter now winning 21-5
-
Quins pretty rubbish so far. Like schoolboys playing adults. Pack completely underpowered.
-
Penalty from the breakdown. Converted. 15-3
-
Our second row worried me when the team was announced. Esp with the two Sarries picked. Evans and the choice of locks maybe a bad move by PG, but combinations being tried.
-
Browny try
-
Smith conversion
-
We are in Sarries half & win a penalty. Kick to the corner and then mess up the line out.... Dear me when will we ever get the line out sorted?
Another penalty, quick tap and Mike Brown goes over. Converted. 15-10
-
Pathetic.
-
22-10 : A sarries kick out of their own in-goal area is collected, passed and then sprinted the length of the pitch for a try & conversion.
-
Is Lamb injured??? I honestly cannot remember a game that the bloke has not gone off injured (Eng U20s also). Certainly takes some knocks!!! If he is injured, hope he is ok.
-
Some really poor skills out there amongst the forwards. Very worrying.
-
22-13 - Penalty converted by Smith and its HT.
-
Difficult to see any of the second or back rows as first choice at the moment. Auterac very poor as well. Wasted a lot of money on a ticket so far. Whatever combinations we’re supposedly trying for this match, give up on them! Our second string appear - yet again, nothing changed from previous years - not to be up to it. Sarries second team light years better. Money well spent - well, technically overspent of course ...
-
Im not there so cannot comment too much but, we have our 5/6 and 7th choice second row playing against an International pair. The front row would be more of a worry, as would the back row but again, its (mainly) new players in new combinations. Sarries are light years ahead of everyone, that is why they win everything. If this stays as it is, 3 wins out of 4 and a place in the next round. Not the end of the world.

Yeah that's how I'm looking at it. I'm becoming numb to any games against Globogym really.

Games re started
-
Big Josh, who we let go, is having a good game. So too Skelton.
-
COYQ
-
28-12 in Exeter.

I was a little disappointed we let him go, I’m sure he’s going to develop very quickly into a great prop.
-
Pathetic yet again. 5 metre line out, planned move, maul held up (after going nowhere), turned over.
-
Resorting to a penalty kick at goal rather than trying another 5 metre lineout
-
So it looks like it will be Sarries in semi, hopefully we may have stronger team by then!
-
The line out - who ever is at fault - has been a weakness for so long. How can this not be the No 1 training priority?

It was fine last week with Symons and Lewies.
-
Score?
-
Saracens have brought a couple of under 16s on. Still outpowering Quins.
-
22-16
-
22-16 from that last penalty at the scrum. Sarries penalty count must be racking up.
-
Lots of replacements now. Dombrandt and Ellia are on but Sarries bring on Vinipola
-
Now Saunders throws an interception to a PROP!
-
When I saw the line up is was worried about the power of their pack. Pleased Dombrandt is now on. He can provide some drive with his carrying power.
-
25-16 after a penalty at the scrum. We are still in touching distance...
-
35-12 at Exeter. Pretty safe to say we have qualified and the outcome of this game is more about pride and whether we play the SF at home or not (I think).
-
Error count huge, but some are from Sarries so let’s say the wet ball has something to do with it.
-
So it looks like it will be Sarries in semi, hopefully we may have stronger team by then!
On current scores,Sale still heading up the table containing Sarries.

sale v Irish 22 - 22 according to BBC at present
-
Evans throws the ball to the opposition ... another 3 points to them
-
Wins of groups Exeter, Quins and either sale or Sarries and whoever comes second in that group. So those 4 teams in current unknown order but we look like ranked 3rd unless we can sneak a win . COYQ
-
Dear me...28-16 from yet another penalty...
-
Come on Sale!

Sale now winning 22-27
-
Gabs try
-
Gabs and Marcus the stand outs today.
-
Ibitoye goes over... Smith misses the conversion (he hits the post) 28-21
-
Last 5 minutes of the game.
-
Come on you Quins! One more try and let's get a draw!
-
I thought Codling was brought in to sort out line out?
-
Not to be. 28-21 at FT.
-
That is not a terrible result away to Sarries.
-
I think that means we are away to Exeter
-
Sale v Sarries, Chiefs v Quins.
-
Not watched but final score not too bad away to a much stronger team unconstrained by salary cap considerations
-
Wouldn’t say that the Sarries team was much stronger
Would say on paper we had the better side
-
We certainly didn't deserve to win the game and from 5 minutes in I never thought we would, but we actually could have won it.
Landajo had a bit of a rough start, a couple of poor box kicks (one of which led to Segun's try) and a few early fumbles. He then settled down and set up Brown's try with a quick tap penalty and also made a try saving tackle. Baldwin was the most notable of the front rowers, he had a few good collisions with Ibuanokpe who displayed far more aggression than we ever saw from him. We lost one line-out, but it was on the Saracens 5m line! We seemed to keep the line-outs fairly simple and whilst not perfect they are much improved from what we saw against Bristol and London Irish.
The big difference was in the second row. Skelton and Isiekwe are two big units, they are hard to stop and are strong in defence. Lamb went off for a HIA just before half time and didn't return, unfortunately we didn't have the muscle to match. Robshaw and Lawday were solid and Evans appeared to become more frustrated as the game went on. Towards the end he won a fantastic turnover which was followed by his second handling error in quick succession.
Smith continues to look very good. His defence has improved, and no charge downs this week! Sarries also had the upper hand in the centres, Barritt continues to smash it up and Tomkins showed a few nice touches. Saili attempted a few offloads when it simply wasn't on and looked far more effective when he took the ball into contact and we recycled quickly.
Brown was excellent under the high ball in pretty poor conditions. I would have liked to have seen Ismaiel looking for the ball and popping up in midfield. He is big man but didn't get his hands on the ball enough. Ibitoye scored again (I'm not sure it would have been given with a TMO) and then had a few words with a couple of fans who were giving him a bit of chat earlier in the game. This was then followed up by him dropping the restart much to their amusement.
We had plenty of possession but just not in the right areas. Sarries' defence was very hard to break through and they scored a couple of excellent tries. For one of them they went the length of the field, easily the best I have seen this season.

Thanks BW pleased to hear about lineout but locks worry me.
-

agree - it is a fiasco that this has been allowed to carry on for years
