I am having a problem with this site as each time I try to open a topic I'm getting links to competitions and other viral links. This is happening on both my laptop and mobile phone. I have run malware programme and nothing has been found. Never had this issue on the old site.
Anyone else having this problem?
-
I got a bit of that yesterday - either PC or iPad, can't remember which. Seems ok on my phone now.
-
For laptop surely just use an adblocker?

I'm sure everyone does, these days.
-
yes me too yesterday and today PC and ipad

I have reinstalled the Ad blocker and it seems to have done the trick.
Thanks

In fact, where have the ads gone? You know - the four at the top of the page. I usually leave them on so I'm a user like anyone else. Can't say I noticed any untoward ads, yesterday or today.
-
It was happening a lot yesterday - I switched to using the WAP version of the website - which has no ads.
-
I started getting it yesterday it then stopped but has been happening again this morning.
-
how do I add adblocker and how do I switch to WAP, whatever that may be
-
The WAP version is:

It's fixed now.

It was nothing but good news 2 years ago as against the more recent doom and gloom, just trying to cheer us all up.

Haha, yeah I did think that.

It's been happening on my iPad for the past few days. I do delete them but it's a worry there's something crappy in them as the new page that opens cycles through a pile of sites.
TBH Despite its problems I found Sportsnetwork better.
-
Hmmm...if you were on a windows machine I'd say you'd picked up one of those horrible self installing ad generators.
Given ads seem to have disappeared entirely (anyone seeing them?) I wonder if someone hacked the advert feed (this happened a lot on sportnetwork) and the ads have been taken down.
Anyone suffering at the moment?
-
I'm always lurking and have had no issues either on PC or tablet.
Touch wood
-
Still happening for me on a Windows laptop. Luckily, my Internet Security program takes the pop up pages down each time, but it's pretty disappointing.
-
I've got it on my phone 😤 very annoying.
-
Every time I touch the screen I get diverted to ads. Just tapped reply and went to some ad site. On iPad, very annoying.
-
Ha! Pressed post and went to more ads. Will not bother with site until problem sorted as is too long winded to see anything without ads every time I touch the screen.
-
Do you use the ipad like a big mobile phone or a desktop type thing? I'm struggling to understand why some people are having issues and I'm not. I don't have problems on my mobile phone, I don't have problems on my laptop, I don't have problems on my desktop. I have the adblocker turned off on this site specifically so I can see ad type issues.
Are you getting this behaviour accessing other sites? And have you done the famous "clear cache and cookies" move after rebooting the ipad but before using the browser?
-
Ok this is still DOK. Borrowed the wife’s iPad and can see the problem! Are you seeing two big buttons at the top of the screen saying Download and Play Now? I think they are part of the hacked advert stream. I’ll report this in the morning.
-
Ok. I installed Adblock plus from the App Store, configured it in less than a minute and the problem disappeared. I was pretty sure those ads were the problem. Suggest anyone suffering this in either windows or iOS downloads an ad blocker.
I will still report this however.
-
OK - that's reported. If you stick to using the mobile view of the board, there don't seem to be problems. Only if you use the full board option on a mobile device (which makes sense with ipads and stuff). Managed to reproduce it on an android phone then make it go away with firefox/adblockplus.

On Iexplore I turned on "Manage add-ons", "Tracking Protection" and turned on a list called EasyList Address http://easylist-msie.RemoveAdblock.com/easylist.tpl and the problem ads disappeared. So play around with tracking protection and see if that solves it.
-
Hurrah, just downloaded a Chrome adblocker and the problems seems to have gone. Thanks DOK
-
Yup, the Chrome adblocker does it for my PC. Thanks. It was getting annoying.

I disabled Javascript for this site on Chrome and I think it worked.
Basically, I went to
Settings -> Advanced -> Content Settings ->Javascript
Then I clicked "ADD" next to the "Block"
and entered "https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com"
The Blue slider at the top needs to say "Allowed (recommended)" - i.e. needs to be slid to the right.
-
Fantastic well done NS, did exactly as you said and works fine now, the 2 grey boxes have gone, hurrah!
-
Yes, not sure if anything on this site uses javascript. Ad blockers may be a bit more selective but hell, if it works for you go for it!
-
I am always nervous about installing any extension that can read all the traffic from my browser. (Really, everyone should be cautious about this - it is really important.)
In my mind, blocking the Javascript is generally a safer approach.

Thanks, it ssems to work the opposite way around in Chrome on Android though, i.e Javascript is blocked for all sites and you need to add exceptions where you want to allow it

You lose the calendars so not a big issue.
The pop ups and redirects were really bad today, every action caused a pop up.

Success at last. My android phone was still having problems so I followed the above and blocked all. Didn't see a blue slider but it seemed to work. I was unable to add any exceptions. Thanks for the info.

My McAfee is blocking this website every time I read a post......
-
can you "whitelist" this site on McAfee?
-
errmmm maybeee....?
-
I've not got issues any more
-
No, I got this from the team that run the site
Was testing a new ad network. Have found the default option on the banners
ad popups. Have changed the setting to disable the popups
So let me know if this is not sorted.
-
Thanks DOK, I have changed my settings back, I can see ads and both calendars again and I am not getting any issues.
-
Just got home and tried looking on here to see what's happening and all is back to normal. No ads anymore. I have done nothing with any of my settings.
