Title: Chris Ashton getting his marching orders
Post by: DOK on Sunday 19-Aug-2018, 20:06*
Romain Poite takes no prisoners! (https://www.balls.ie/rugby/chris-ashton-red-carded-punch-friendly-395103)

but it wasn't until I clicked on the "Chris Ashton may be about to be suspended, again" part that I realised what his disciplinary record looks like. 2016 handed a 13-week ban after being found guilty of biting Northampton prop Alex Waller. Previous season, Ashton was banned for 10 weeks for eye-gouging Ulster's Luke Marshall.

He's a right charmer!

England and Sale winger Chris Ashton will face a disciplinary panel on Thursday after he was cited for a tip tackle made on Castres' Rory Kockott in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

It was initially reported that Ashton had punched Kockott, but footage of the incident shows Ashton lift his opponent by the legs and throw him to the ground.

He could miss the opening six matches of the Premiership season, with suspensions for such tackles starting at six weeks.

I've only seen the video that was posted earlier today, but the tip looks bad, especially as it's not actually during play.

Can't say I'm upset by that. A lot more serious than Cipriani's late night fracas.

Totally agree, people give Cipriani a hard time yet I believe Ashton has done worse. Both should learn from their mistakes yes, but Ashton’s problems are generally his attitude on the pitch and not off it

More importantly for Quins he's not on the park against us next week which must be a bonus , and if Faf de Clerk is not around for 6 weeks as reported that's a loss to Sale as well .

I am clutching at straws already ?...
