Title: Saracens U18 12 Quins U18 26
Post by: The Quin Meister on Sunday 06-Jan-2019, 16:35*
That is a really good win by the young Quins. Well done lads! I know Honkytonk alluded to the win in a previous thread, but that is also a fine away win to match the 1st XV result at Newcastle.

It is encouraging to hear about the potential quality we have in this age group - Riley, Lynagh, Anyanwu et al. The academy intake next season should be a good one. In the meantime it will be interesting to see whether this group can go back to Allianz Park for the finals in February - as they hopefully will with currently 3 wins from 3 - and repeat the feat of 2 years ago when we won the Cup.

It's about time we had some good forwards coming through. Fingers crossed for later this year.

Lost last two games so effectively out of contention for the main prize, expect Hyde, Lynagh & Smith (younger brother of Marcus) to be offered contracts, no idea about the forwards!!

Sam Riley the hooker is apparently a very good player, and god knows we need one.

Yes I saw we lost the last two games, albeit by small margins. We were winning away at top team Gloucester with Lynagh having bagged a hat trick of tries, only for Glos to score 3 converted tries in the last 3 minutes to win by a point. Painful. But the young Quins should still finish third and so go to the finals to contest 5th/6th place like last year. And it is still the case that this group seems to contain a few players with real promise for the future.
