Any news from yesterday - more specifically why was Bothma taken off? And is he OK?
I do think he makes a difference to the back row.

We seem to be having better luck with injuries anyone else think it could be linked to the training being tougher but shorter sessions, getting the body better prepared and rested?
-
It's a circle isn't it. Fewer injured = the ability to rotate and rest players = fewer injured.

I do get the impression that players are being subbed when they show signs of having an issue rather than waiting until they pull or tweak something.

He wasn't making a great impact? Wallace came on and tackled/turned over with glee. Good substitution...
Not sure that Kunitani made a great contribution either - he seemed to stand off at the breakdown and wait. His "strength" seems to be open field running (and tackling?), which he didn't get much of a chance to show/actually do: doesn't seem to be a "tight" player, but I may have missed something...

He does - he reduces the amount of go-forward and handling ability, and increases the risk of penalties for dodgy tackles...
He's some way off our best back rows.

He'd (Bothma) just dropped what could have been a scoring pass right at the beginning of the second half before he was replaced. I think his handling is a bit suspect still as he has a tendency to drop the ball and/or knock on more than would be expected of a player of his calibre. IMHO

I spoke to him briefly after the game and asked if he was 'out' again , he said no 'just a niggle' . Looked to me like he was limping slightly .
