If there's anything in the rumours of Benson moving on at the end of his next contract, I can see Kerr moving inside a position or two to FH - I'm not sure he has the bulk needed for 12 (although, admittedly, he could pile it on) or the pace required for 13. His distribution skills and boot make me think he'd just be better suited to 10 if he can develop all the game control, etc.

Why the 2026 Six Nations Kicks Off on a Thursday?

For the first time in the Six Nations era, the championship will begin on Thursday 5 February 2026, instead of the traditional Saturday opening.

The change is down to a mix of global scheduling pressures, broadcast priorities, and the wider sporting calendar.

Avoiding a Clash With the 2026 Winter Olympics

The biggest reason why the 2026 Six Nations kicks off on a Thursday is to avoid competing with the Winter Olympics.

The Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony takes place on Friday 6 February, the day after the Six Nations opener. Broadcasters wanted to ensure rugby’s biggest annual tournament didn’t lose attention to one of the world’s largest sporting events.

Dear Admin, could we have FF's 6 Nations Prediction League as a sticky?

Yeah something about a global search not needing a round the world air ticket, more just an Oyster card (was said by someone else but was bloody funny)

a front row player from Pontypool, oh how that would have been amazing back in the 70's. Good chance for game time we looked to be last man standing in the last game for props. Interesting we say we need to reduce the squad size based on spend and spreading our funds too thin over too many players but we have a crisis mid term and need to bring in players on short term deals.

That's why I say you need a different gameplan. Neither of them work well with England's current gameplan. But they are both fast, good with ball in hand, and excellent at turnovers, which neither Earl nor Underhill specialise in.

Earl is very good at turnovers, and while Kenners is faster than Underhill I wouldn't call him fast. Earl is the quickest of the 4.

It wasn't the game plan that made Dombrandt drop the ball and miss tackles, unfortunately, and regardless of the game plan the back row is going to need to be extremely physical.

Dombrandt isn't the next cab off the rank in some ways, taking a non Quins view out of it many have thought he's had a chance and not taken his opportunity (Only quins fans seem to argue the points above as a defence for including him). If the change in approach with SB etc is deemed to benefit Alex then he should be in the England 6n squad rather than the A team also, as I'm not sure what's gained from playing him with players he in theory won't be really lining up with, or have the same Borthwick mentality applied.

I suppose I was defining "next cab off the rank" as any player who is waiting in the wings for an injury or suspension to grant them an opportunity to step up into the main England squad. Clearly this A team is a bunch of players Borthwick would look to bring in if and when required - or if their form demands that they break into the main squad. In that sense, we can assume that Dombrandt has not been exiled entirely as a result of his previous international form and is still on the periphery of Borthwick's plans.

If they’re better at different things, in my view they’re not really competing with Earl and Underhill. Although Earl is fast enough.
