TEAM NEWS: QUINS SQUAD TO FACE GLASGOW

Harlequins have named their matchday squad for Friday's Investec Champions Cup Round of 16 fixture against Glasgow Warriors at The Stoop (KO 20:00).

The starting XV features just two changes from the side that beat Bath 40-36 with Will Collier returning at tighthead prop and Irne Herbst starting at second-row.

In the engine room, Fin Baxter and Will Collier pack down alongside hooker Jack Walker. Irne Herbst and George Hammond form the second-row partnership, with Stephan Lewies and Will Evans on the flanks. Alex Dombrandt continues at number eight.

In the backs, Danny Care and Marcus Smith start in the halves, with Andre Esterhuizen and Oscar Beard in the centres. Cadan Murley and Louis Lynagh resume on the wings with Tyrone Green at fullback.

The Impact Players feature a 6-2 split, with replacement front-row Sam Riley, Joe Marler and Dillon Lewis joining the experienced Joe Launchbury, flanker Will Trenholm and the returning Tom Lawday. Elsewhere, Max Green covers scrum-half with Cameron Anderson adding versatility in the backs.

Director of Rugby Billy Millard commented: “We’re excited for Glasgow. Knockout rugby is always special and we’re looking forward to a good challenge on Friday night. The boys have worked hard to get to this stage and we’re determined to put in another good performance for our supporters.”

The winner of Friday's Round of 16 match will face either Bordeaux Begles or Saracens on the weekend of 12-14 April. Click here to read more information.

Decent team. Suspect the bench split is largely influenced by the number of injured backs. Really need some back for the run in.

I was thinking that our injury list would make most of a half-decent starting XV if they were all fit...

The injuries are taking ages to clear up 🙄

Convinced Walker must have some dirt on Billy to keep starting. He is third choice in my view, rarely having done much to justify keep starting, in front of Riley and Jibulu. Lets also hope Irne puts in the game of his life, as opposed to a few clumsy penalties.

nothing against Max Green but we could do with Porter back.....also haven't seen much from Anderson to warrant being in the squad again but presume the injuries leave us short......

Slightly late to party, and i've only just noticed that 2nd Row Stefan Lewies starts at Flanker

He has started the last two games in that position.

Porter is a big miss. Expecting DC to put in 80min performances week after week at this stage of his career is a big ask and Green and Gjaltema just aren't of the required standard.

Let's hope no more injuries in the backs or we're going to be in real bother.

Pack options from the bench are decent. Glad to see Lawday back involved.

Absolutely. Riley comes on and loops pinpoint throws with perfect timing to any man in the lineout, his throwing is just sublime. I don't get it with walker at all.

Maybe gives the scrum a bit more go forward?

Maybe. I think sam has a really good partnership with fin too tho.

It certainly looks like this is the moment that baxter takes over as first choice. I would love to see Riley do the same. Maybe the coaches think the two together is giving up too much experience.
