anybody know details re promotion to prem?

Hi All,

My better half (I have to say that) is a Salarycens fan....I know, I know...........not enough space or time on here! However, we were having a conversation last night and I bought up into the chat that i remember reading somewhere that there was a stipulation that any club seeking promotion from the Championship had to be able to evidence 2 clear years of compliance with the salary cap regulations.
Not sure of where I initially read it and for the life of me cannot find anything on line regarding it, but if this stipulation is required to be met, how could they possibly meet it?
Definitely not looking to create any huge debates in relation to the rights (or not) of demotion/promotion (whole different section!) its just a general query as to whether anybody could shed further light?

I'm fairly sure it only relates to the previous season, and not to the two previous seasons

Here's my thinking:

Go to the Premiership Rugby page:

Click on the 2021/22 regulations

Section 4.12 states that any Promoted Club must show that they complied with the rules for the previous season.

that may have been where i initially read it and hadn't considered that it would have been published for the start of the season, and reference the last. so makes reference to 19/20 so i may have inadvertently taken that to mean 2 years..............looks like I'd better get my best apology hat at the ready then.......unless anybody else can save me?  ???

I can't remember all the details but I believe the talk about two years compliance was due to a misunderstanding caused by regulation documents not having been updated.

It should all be irrelevant anyway as the Cheats should still be worrying about promotion from Herts/Middx 2.
