Think this game isnt going to happen as I think another lockdown is unfortunately coming, interested in other people’s views....

From what the political reporters are tweeting, it looks like while a lockdown of sorts *is* coming, it won't be until later next week. Looked at purely in cold logical terms, it's hard to see a justification for allowing mass mixing of families across the over the next week and a half while the growth in infections is increasing, only to lock down when people have travelled back to their own home locations & potentially mixed with different groups over a matter of days (work colleagues* up to the 24th, Family from various parts of the country  on the 25th/26th, friends & neighbours after that). It's a recipe for spreading the variant far & wide.

*excluding work meetings with wine, cheese & pizzas in the garden where your wife & young baby are in attendance, of course...

For all but a few 'round ball' teams the money is all about survival without the big TV money. Without benefactors with deep pockets how many rugby teams could survive? It's a difficult balance but I favour playing on with reasonable, sensible, limitations to the financial bloodbath of no sport. As a society we need to take some personal responsibility for jabs, hygiene precautions and an acceptance of some risk (the level of risk being a personal decision). I say this in the expectation that Covid will still be around, in some form, five years from now and probably a lot longer.

I can't see why it wouldn't go ahead, unless the government brings in restrictions. Quins will not be able to afford to ditch BG without legal cover of restrictions without paying for HQ and having to refund the tickets. That would result in Quins making a massive loss on the non event.

It’s pretty much impossible to transmit Covid outside - I probably won’t stand for a long time in a packed bar inside but otherwise very happy to go.

Jabbed crowd, mask wearing, I’m very happy with the low risk.

I’m sure others may well decide not to attend having taken a different view - but I can’t see any regulations coming in at this stage which affect it too much.
