NEXT FOUR GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP FIXTURES CONFIRMED
Friday, 10th July 2020 @ 16:00

OUR FIRST GAME BACK WILL BE AGAINST SALE SHARKS AT THE STOOP ON FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST

Our next four matches have been confirmed as the Gallagher Premiership gets ready to resume the 2019/20 season.

Sale Sharks will visit on Friday 14th August before we travel to Saracens and Worcester Warriors.

We then host Northampton Saints on Sunday 30th August.

Harlequins Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “We are delighted to be the first club back hosting a fixture as the Gallagher Premiership recommences. It has, of course, been an unprecedented time – the global impact of COVID-19 has been seismic.

“We are all excited to have the opportunity to represent the Club and look to push on in the second half of the season. It is brilliant that we get to run out at The Stoop once more. We are hugely thankful for the goodwill of our owners, the support of the board and the continued generosity of our amazing supporters.

“We also recognise and are grateful for all the hard work undergone by the game’s key stakeholders. They have played significant roles in getting us back out on the field from - the lengthy work of Premiership Rugby, the RFU, BT and Gallagher to namecheck just a few.”

Schedule

Friday 14th August - Harlequins v Sale Sharks, The Stoop

Saturday 22nd August - Saracens v Harlequins, Allianz Park

Wednesday 26th August - Worcester Warriors v Harlequins, Sixways Stadium

Sunday 30th August - Harlequins v Northampton Saints, The Stoop

3 matches in 9 days - brutal stuff. The whole squad will definitely need to contribute!

At least we should have a fully fit squad as the break should (I hope!) have allowed all the injuries to be repaired.

The Worcester game is the only one not on BT Sport

Finally, something we can finally get excited about!

Tough start but with our players coming back from injury, it could be good for us.

Is there a link to the BT Sport fixtures? Can't see them anywhere!

Awesome. Can't wait. Fully fit but fairly significantly smaller squad. Guess it balances out. I assume our new signings aren't with us yet?

I don't think there are any easier than other games this season, it's all be close and teams taking wins off everyone.

I was thinking, when do we expect our new players to arrive?

Tricky schedule. I'd hope we go flat out against Sarries, but we risk injuries/fatigue for what might be seen as not so debilitating games, especially as I can't see Sarries putting out a lesser team at home.

Me neither. I’m not sure when the new guys arrive TBH but we’ll need them to get up to speed ASAP.

Definitely going to need more than 2 scrum halves too.

We still have Dylan Munro as an Academy SH, he signed a 2 year deal when he joined us (but i agree we need another).  I would be surprised if the new payers were not here, no reason for them not to be.  Might be a bit short on training though!!

It is, but when you take out the mid-week game with Worcester, it’s pretty much a regular schedule.

If we manage the squad carefully, there’s no reason why we can’t put out strong match day 23s without burning everyone out.

I’m not sure when Esterhuizen, Louw and Green arrive from SA, but hopefully it’s soon as we’ll need our full squad available.

Saracens have a strange squad now with Kruis, Goode, Lozowski etc. overseas and a bunch of their new signings clearly for the Championship (rather than the Premiership). I can’t see them going anything other than full strength against us though, even if that’s not quite as strong as it might have been before.
