Worcester fan here. We were all disappointed to see Nick David leave us to join you. Having seen a lot of your game son BT, can only remember seeing him in the squad once. Has he been injured or is the form of Murley (really like him) etc. keeping him out of the squad?

He's played in a few games, mainly the premiership cup though. Murley and lynagh ahead of him. Marchant also an option on the wing. We usually have Jones or northmore covering back 5 on the bench. Then you have beard and Morris as other back 3 options. We don't rotate w huge amount so just a question of waiting for his opportunity

I'm not sure if he's injured; but he does have a lot of competition in front of him. Moving Murley, Lynagh or Green (or Marchant when he moves to wing to accommodate Northmore) from their positions is a tough ask for one that's only just joined the club. I suspect we'll see more of him when injuries pile up (hopefully not), when Premiership Cup returns or during 6 N, when we will lose a few players and more squad rotation is required...

Many thanks for the responses, seeing the names ahead of him, can see it being hard for him to break through. Will be the classic case like Green of taking your chance when you get it

I imagine so. I think we were all pretty excited to have him join and I’m sure he’ll get his chance soon enough.

He was in the extended squad that went to Kingsholm yesterday alongside some of the players returning from injury. He was doing sprints & drills as part of that group after the main warmup finished and during halftime. It's possible he's been carrying a knock & the coaching squad are biding their time to introduce him when fully fit & raring to go...

The challenge for David is that Quins have a lot of in form players who between them can play 11, 13, 14 and 15. Marchant in particular is an obstacle, because if he is fit, he plays, and Eddie wants him to play more on the wing, so oftentimes David will be fighting Green, Lynagh and Murley for two slots.

It also takes time for players to get attuned to the Quins system. Green was here for a long time before we finally put him on the pitch, but he's been an automatic pick ever since.

David will have to bide his time and wait for his chance, but it will come in time.

Other new signings outside the backs have had the same need to wait. Scotland-Williamson is on a similar trajectory (although he's been injured) where they bed into the squad for a bit before being unleashed at some stage.

David has it all to do with those guys in front of him but a lot of the guys who do get their shot don't relinquish their place after being sat behind the incumbents for a bit. This is true of homegrown guys like Kenningham and Northmore as it has been new signings like Green.

Luke Northmore joined Harlequins from Cardiff Met University ahead of the 2019/20 season, so not strictly a homegrown player...
