Quins Player of the Season
« on: »
Hi,

As we approach the end of the regular season.  I was think who would be my player of the season.

Honourable mentions:

M Smith
S Lewies
J Marler
D Care
Andre

but my player of the season would be

Will Evans

We are a much better team with him in the side and his turnovers have been the start of so many tries this year

What do you think

Regards

D-Quins

Evans for me too

Evans so far.... but let's see.

Baldwin and Northmore have both been very consistent and would make the shortlist for me ahead of Lewies and Andre.

Andre has been awesome at times, but just missed too many games with his reds.

I’m not sure you can look much further than Marcus, he’s been best player in the league by a country mile. Although the other 14/13 have been vital his direction from 10 have ensured we’ve won games we might not have.

Strong case for Wev too though.

WEv is a great shout, he would thoroughly deserve it.

Marler has led us to being the best scrum in the league.

Marcus has ignited our fantastic attack, as has Danny.

Andre has been sensational. Shame he has missed a few games, especially recently (seeing what others are getting away with, I am ever more bitter about his red against Irish!)

Given the choice, I would go for Marcus. He has been excellent and inspirational. He has played for the team but has won games on his own.

Another vote for Evans.  For me he edges it over Smith.

In the honourable mentions I'd add Wilco as well.  Our scrum is now one of the most effective in the league and he has to be the biggest difference since last season.  He also does his fair share around the field.

Yep. This captures my thoughts pretty much exactly.

When I think about what Biggar and Hepetema have got away with in the last 2 rounds, Andre’s red now looks outrageously harsh.

Will Evans for me. I know Marcus has pulled the strings, and without him we wouldn't be where we are, but when you think about where Evans has come from and those stats he has, for a guy playing in his position, I can't think of a player who I want to see more in a Quins shirt right now. He just makes stuff happen, always gives 100% and can lift the team with one of those amazing turnovers.

DC for me.
He seems to have sprung a new lease of life since
Gussie left. His work rate is on form and he seems to
read the games so well.
Tough call but Evans a close 2nd :-)

With 2, possibly even 3 games to go, might just be worth waiting
I’d also be looking at Louw and Symo who have both been imense
But it’s hard to look parts Marcus at the moment, we are a different team when he isn’t playing

Smith by far for me.

Won us games singlehandedly several times, top points scorer in the league by 80 points, plus the fact he plays 80 minutes basically every week because we have no able replacement.

He’d be on for winning Prem player of the year if it wasn’t for Simmonds breaking the try record.

DC and Wev have been outstanding and thrown their hat in the ring too, but Smith is just the complete player.

Marler has been the catalyst for me, when he is smiling the Quins world seems be ok!

But Evans was playing well pre PG leaving......

Will Evans.  You can't win without the ball - Evans gets us the ball.
