There have been a few signs recently, but it's clear that he is thinking about getting into coaching in the future.
Really? I'd have thought he'd be more likely to go into media rather than coaching. Has he been doing any coaching with lower league clubs? That's the usual way that players get their experience in coaching...
Surely media is only a part time job for pundits?
Looking at that the 7's players in that squad , Im sure DC will learn plenty about unloading in the tackle , they probably don't need too much coaching , but its a great opportunity for Lynagh and Anyanwu to work with those guys .
This is Ben Ryans pet project isn't it , it will be interesting to see if it catches on . Could well be the thing for impromptu 'park' / 'beach' rugby .

These days, I doubt it. Pretty sure the likes of Ugo don't really need to do anything else to earn a living given how much media work they get - although I know a lot of them support charities etc too.
I too had the feeling that Danny was heading down the punditry route. I suppose it depends how hands-on you want to be within the game once you retire. I still feel like he'll end up taking the TV/radio route post-retirement. The Rugby X gig is a bit of fun really. How much coaching does a Baa Baas X team really need?!

Yep, agree with this. I'm not aware of Danny coaching at the local clubs as others do. He does the BBC Rugby Podcast now though, and has been doing highlights for ITV too, so suspect that's a more likely route.
Coaching this team for the first Rugby X tournament should be as much of a scoail as serious coaching.
Not sure I'm sold on Rugby X really. I know Ben Ryan has been preaching about its benefits, understandably. I don't really see the need for it when we already have 7s, which I would have thought is pretty accessible.
TBQ - I just can't see it. Lynagh, Greenwood and Guscott all have day jobs, and those are just the ones I know about.
I guess it comes down to who you are "Punditing" for. Also, someone like Care, would have/is earning a pretty hefty chunk of cash from his playing career compared to some of the others mentioned, might not need more than one gig.

They, for me, are summarisers whereas the likes of Flatman, Ugo, Bayfield, etc are presenters. The latter group would seem to do so pretty much full time - be it TV shows, podcasts, awards, dinners or whatever.
I'm really looking forward to it. Might be terrible, might work really well. The pompous disregard is jarring.
o1 sent me emails regarding this about 6 months ago at £50 a ticket. Naturally I didn't bother sp will probably just record on itv4 and watch after work.

It was rugby 7s simplified, it was just terrible. Two games at the same time on one pitch
It may well appeal to some but so removed from rugby union it’s not my cup of tea at all, would rather watch rugby league
