suspected drink spiking post England match

A group of 6 including our other halves went to the Turks Head after the match on Saturday. We then caught the train to Clapham Jct to change trains and one of the ladies was seriously not well at all. Her legs were not working correctly and she was ill on the platform. she was extremely groggy and the only conclusion we could reach was that her drink had been tampered with. we were only in the marquee area at the back for about 3 drinks before leaving. we are all in our early 50s and its really worrying if our age group can fall victim to such things then what chance do our kids have when they are out and about with their friends. Fortunately we were with her when she suffered the effects and were able to make sure she got home safely.

Thankfully yes all is well now. I believe Sunday was a challenge as she still wasn't quite right at all. If its done "for a laugh" it just so irresponsible, and even worse to think more sinister motives are potentially at work. It is just way too prevalent now. It is so important on nights out that everyone stays with their friends and not get separated. youngsters in particular need to look out for each other when they are out enjoying themselves.

I hope she fully recovers. Report it to the police as there are almost certainly cameras around and hopefully the perpetrator(s) can be identified.

The manager very kindly called me back and sadly there are no cameras in the marquee area as its a temp structure. At least they can be a bit more vigilant in that area now. He was grateful that he had been made aware and this is the first incident of its kind he has had reported to him. He will report it to the staff and door teams.

It’s a hotbed of minor celebrities around that neck of the woods.
