Wow Gustard really doesn't rate Visser if he's starting Chisholm on the wing over him.

Good looking Bris team - but if we're close at 60 minutes I'd hope we'd have the legs to score a few points in the final 20.

I like the look of that team. Deserved call up for Chsiholm and start for Lang. Walker was always going to miss out entirely if not starting. Elia and Lamb go from starters to out of squad. i like the fact Gustard is happy to make some fairly tough calls.

Injury list is a bit smaller, but 5-8 of them would probably be in the match day squad

Good to see the Sinck is back. I'm guessing that Elia is partly being rested as his wife is about to give birth, hence Crumpton starting.

I like the look of the inside backs, although I would've started with Mulchrone, as he looked a lot sharper than DC last week. Not surprised to see Walker dropped as he's not been as effectual as normal so far this season.

Happy with that team.  More than capable of getting a result.  Pack looks a lot stronger with Marler/Sink and Glynn starting

Nah, just had to spend time with some marketing types recently. I'm trying to get it out of my system! ;D

Bit more power in the front 5 to match up to that Briz pack - liking Lang starting at 10 as well as his kicking  he's more robust and Crane and Smith will be all over him like a rash.

No doubt Bears will have a high intensity 60 mins like the last couple of games Ive seen them play ,running from everywhere ,  so Marcus and Mulchrone will add some fizz for the last 30 .

I think our bench looks a bit stronger ( for a change) so feeling a bit more confident seeing that line up , but Im sure it will be close either way .

I’m not convinced that’s the reason. I like Elia but his basics - specifically the lineout - are poor and that’s cost us field position and possession in all of our games so far. He’s far better as an impact sub IMO.

I believe Crumpton was highly rated by Bristol but spent too much time on the treatment table. If his basics are halfway decent, I can see him leapfrogging Elia and Ward. He’ll also be super-motivated against his old side.

Looking again, you have to wonder if PG doesn't yet know his best side. It would be nice to think that the starting XV are varied according to the challenge presented by that days opposition but I just sense that we are reacting to opponents strengths rather than letting them worry about us.

But then what do I know?

Possibly.

But then he also seems to be rewarding good performance or the Premiership Sheiod games which I’d be supportive of.

Smith’s not been great and Lang’s looked good off the bench so that’s a fair swap. Neither Elia or Ward have really shone so far this season, so why not give Crumpton a chance? Same with Ross Chisholm over Walker.
