I take the point about Nakarawa’s age - he isn’t a long-term prospect. But I can see the logic in him as a partial replacement for Kyle. What Kyle offers is the combination of skills in the set piece and open play. We won’t get a like for like replacement, but we can expect to find a solid scrummager (potentially more consistent than Kyle, but he has improved hugely). What Nakarawa would bring is the same/better qualities in the loose - his ability to break the gain line and offload or keep going. Plus potentially more likely to see that more often (fewer international absences) and for longer (a second row is on balance more likely to play a full 80 mins than a front row).
