Aware of that, but equally you could say Lang is a centre/FH/FB - and yet none of us really know where his strongest position is. Just like the debate over Alofa - is he a 13 or a winger? And that's the problem with these utility players - they never get long enough in one position to really nail it.

Which is why I hesitate over Herron (and like I said, happy to reserve judgement). Just feel like unless Herron surprises us, our options at FB (whilst not inadequate in numbers) feel a little light in quality after Brownie. Then again, that might just be because they're understudying for one of the best all-round full backs ever to have played the game...

Id like to see Morris get a decent run.  I think he is a good player.  Problem is, until Brown goes, I don't see us bringing in a top class FB

I would think both. As mentioned elsewhere, the Horwill cash has probably been incorporated already. As for Earle, even if it's only a 6 month injury, he'll need quite a bit of rehab I would think. Since he's been first choice for some time I would suspect we'll try to bring in an equivalent if there's one available.

But if Visser gets back to his storming best, this could all be moot.

It is even later than that...The Premiership Cup starts weekend of 21st September and the league doesn't start until the weekend of 19th October (RWC 1/4 Finals). European Cup games start weekend of 15th November (2 weeks after the RWC Final).

NB - The 2020 Premiership Final is 20th June.

I think Morris is the clear back up to Brown but long term they will help Louis Lynagh takes over that position. Stand out player at U18 and will be in England U20 set up next season

For me Murley is at least as important a p,Ayer for us as Earle, talented, hard working and with absolutely the right attitude...

Add to those two Ibotyoe and we have 3 real prospects

Smith, Murley & Ibitoye haven't done badly.

And I think you can add Marchant into the list of recent academy graduates - he's still only 22.

Smith and Marchant are all class, the other two are decent prospects. No forwards to speak of really, or half backs.

I'd say Clifford and Chisholm (J) are relatively recent Academy graduates who could be classed as "of note" in the forwards...
