See if we can find a South African waitress called Suzie who can work at short notice in Barnet Copthall?

Premiership cup aside we've not beaten Sarries for years. We may have the perfect storm of a game where everything clicks, but that will be more luck than consistency. As a direct answer, better coaching, more big game mentality players and more mental toughness.

I wonder if it isn't more them than us.
As much as we dislike them because of the celery cap stuff I think they might view us as the biggest snitches that have persecuted them over it more than anyone else and so hate us more than anyone else.
It might give them an extra spicy edge when they play us.

I would also add that being the more successful club off the pitch, will also be a factor. It must be annoying to win the prem, to be 3 or 4 or what ever euro winners and still get crap crowds in North London, and the only way to fill up White Heart Lane is to play quins.

From talking to Sarries fans, I think that they view Chiefs as the enemy in this regard.
I believe that Exeter doesn't exactly roll out the red carpet when Saracens come to town.

Has anyone asked Marsile????

You can't turn around psychological stuff in a heartbeat (turning oil tankers in swimming pools and all that) but they have to not see Sarries as their 'Big Game' every year and just another opponent.

As much as I can't stand Warren Gatland, he told the welsh players that they would never be good until they stopped thinking beating England was success and then losing to practically everyone else.

This is the same kind of thing.

The most frustrating thing about watching Saints beat Sarries last week was that they did it playing exactly the same style of rugby as Quins normally play. The fact that we don't seem to ever bring that to our Sarries matches is entirely a mental approach.

We've had plenty of really good contests with them over the years, and a theme to those losses was running up a lead before being clawed back. This suggests the answer lies in fitness and judicious use of an impact bench.

I think that Sarries and Quins fans tend to get along quite nicely.
From what I gather, the same can't be said for Chiefs and Sarries.

I don't think it's been the case previously, but at the moment I think it's entirely down to lack of mental strength.

On paper, our pack was by far and away the better of the two a couple of weeks ago. Having a solid set piece should see us get front foot ball and allow us to play as Saints did last week. Our backline was probably a bit smaller than theirs on average but skill levels comparable. We've got the goods to beat them and do it more frequently but the team just seems to be mentally defeated from very early on. One score down and all their heads drop and body language suggests that defeat was inevitable and it's an insurmountable challenge.

A memory wipe and a hefty injection of self belief.

It’s an odd one that we don’t seem to be able to compete with them even though I/we know that our boys are good enough to. If I was a Quins player I would be specially up for and focused on beating them. I would go round to all my teammates and tell them that they are better than their opponent and to concentrate fully on dominating them. Accidentally run into them off the ball ( like they do all the time) hit them hard early.
For all I know the coaches do this already but we still come out like rabbits in headlights. Why? As a player surely you wouldn’t enjoy or accept being second best all the time. However, we did beat them earlier this season in the Prem Cup.
