Yeah why? And why were the walk ups all showing up with 25 mins until kick off. And previously it was about members thinking they could use their cards now it’s walk ups.

The club has nothing to answer to here.

The queuing system, cashless and the new food offerings are bobbins - but people showing up late to get a last minute for a game aren’t their issue.

Generally I would agree it’s not the clubs issue but given I booked tickets months ago and they were never posted out to me, I have doubled and tripled checked the order and they were to be posted and not print at home, plus the club did have a message out saying they were aware of issues with both tickets and meal vouchers not arriving in time. Due to this I called the ticket office and was told my tickets had never been printed and therefore not sent, I was told they would print and leave at the ticket office for me to collect. When I got to the ticket office on Friday they had not been print again, this wasn’t a huge issue for me as we were there just before 4 and no queue so took two minutes but there was clearly something that went wrong with the ticketing for this game and to call others morons just because you are not affected is a little too much I’d say and I’d agree the club needs to look at this process as I would assume they want people to keep coming back and I doubt this experience will encourage those it affected or others to come back.

I believe we had issues with ticketing last year in the pre-season due to the club underestimating the crowd.

Why would you expect 5 Star service and turn up near KO when you know there have been and always will be issues? Smacks of a little bit of blinkered just me-ism tbh.

This shouldn't be rocket science but.............young children have a short attention span, particularly ones who have a new/unconfirmed interest in rugby. Without any matchday activities (which he doesn't much care for anyway), getting there an hour early is pushing it to hold his attention span for 3+ hours.

Hence why they get there as late as is practical.

getting there late may be practical, but then you need to expect and accept there may be a queue at the ticket office. If they had booked and received their tickets in advance then they could have walked straight in.

How has this pre season friendly game suddenly become "ticketed" event & not just a case of showing your membership card or paying £5 at the gate? I suppose the £5 bit is because everything is now no cash at the Stoop, but I couldnt work out why if I'm a member & the game is covered by my membership, I then had to claim a ticket? Its only a pre season friendly match. Didnt go anyway but it all sounds a bit disorganised.

It is usually ticketed, i assume the club want you to request your ticket to get an idea of numbers so they can have the correct numbers of staff working.
A big part of the problem is the large number of menbers that don't request their ticket in advance.

The club have in recent years ticketed the game (with members having to claim their freebie) so that they can have an idea ahead of time how many people are attending so that they can judge which parts of the ground need to be opened up, how many stewards will be needed, how much food & drink will need to be on hand without going overboard to reduce wastage etc.

Ha! Not sure that explains the £25 tickets, or the fact that the outside bars ran out of pretty much all booze before the end of half time.

It’s been a ticket event for a good few years

Would be I interesting to know out of the 4K+ in attendance how many where walk ups as that might explain some of the delays etc, but as other have said 30 mins before KO, avoidable or not you have to expect a bit of wait to get in
Cant comment on outside bars as didn’t use, but had beer all game.

And the club consistently underestimates attendance at these events. There was trouble with the pre-season match last year (and the year before I think) due to them not figuring the walk up figure.

BQ, you really need to stop the unnecessary aggression and embrace the fact that a lot of the attendees were casual/new/on-STs-of-those-who-didn't-want-to-attend-and-ignored-the-instructions. You also need you listen to those with complaints not related to your obsession with this.

I never get to the ground more than 15 mins before KO and have never missed a kick. To have friends rock up 30 mins before KO, miss 10 mins of the game, fail to get a beer for the first half due to queues and then have beer run out on them for what was a preseason game is not a good experience. They were going to get STs, but have changed their minds. That's the real story here.
